I'm meant to have this project in a week - we have to make something like a "poster or picture or something, anything visual that conveys a message". The nets wide open but I can't think of anything to do. All I need is an idea - the theme or something to set off my own ideas. Help!

What issues are important to you?
If you want to do this well it has to be from the heart, it has to be something you care about.

Just a suggestion: Make a collage of visuals centering on a specific theme...for example "airplanes". If you have no time to actually make your own drawings, cartoons or even take photographs, use the internet to find the images you need and scan them. Look for images that say something about the message you want to impart. Use layers of different colors that complement the pictures. You can add captions if you like. Have fun.

charity posters usually convey pretty strong messages, maybe you could choose a charity that means something to you and design a poster for them?

Pick a verb. Or two verbs. Like 'think' or 'act' or 'do' .... and play with them. Consider the effect of what just these words in imperative form could be on different coloured backgrounds, in different coloured fonts, for example.
