Well first off they will do a culture to make sure you have have any stds or infections of any kind. They will have you lay ont he table and scoot all the way to the edge (no bottoms on). Then they will put a thing into you to open you enough for them to see inside your vagina. They will take some swabs and wipe the inside. After that they will take the devise out and then with a gloved hand and lube insert 2 fingers in you to check your ovaries and uterus. They will push a little on your belly during this. Then they will take off the glove and do an ultrasound most likely. So they can check to see about how far along you are. If you are 6 weeks or more they will listen to the heartbeat. Then you'll get some pictures of your baby. After that they may take some blood to check things out like aids and such. Oh yeah and you'll also pee in a cup probably before all this. They might also check your breasts for lumps.

FIrst you will just sit in the doctors office and he will get a full medical history on you and also ask the first day of you last period to determine your due date. You will then get an internal and likely some blood tests done, get weighed, blood pressure, etc.. That's about all there is to it. Always remember doctors are busy so may not take the time to tell you things pertaining to pregnancy so if you have any questions always write them down and bring the list with you so you can get answers while you are at your appointment.

They will confirm with a urine test first. After that they will do a pap if you have not had one done in the last year. They will do an internal pelvic exam. They will ask you 30 min of questions about your and the daddys family history lol. They will send you to the lab for blood tests. They usually take 4 vials of blood. They will check for hepititus, HIV (if you sign the form), and a variety of other things. You will get a prental prescription. You may hear babys heartbeat using dopplar if you are far enough along (at least 8 weeks). Thats about it. Nothing scary..oo they do a general physical too. just checking ear nose eyes throat etc

They will give you a pap and do blood work. They might even give you a u/s if not they will schedule you for one. They will try to get the baby's heartbeat but if you aren't far along you wont be able to hear it. The first appointment always lasts the longest so don't think you will be in for that every time because you wont. Its nothing to be scared about really. I enjoy my doctors appointments. I actually look forward to them

They do a pap smear. They check your blood pressure, get your weight and get a urine sample, all of which will be done at all your appointments. They give you your lab slips to get a lot of blood work done (STD testing, HCG levels, check for anemia, etc... it's about 6 viles of blood), and that's about it. They may do an ultrasound to check to make sure the baby is in your uterus and has a heartbeat. Both times I had one at the first appointment at 8 weeks and got a picture.

Easiest way to explain it...They basically do a yearly exam (pap, breast exam, etc.) They will probably do an ultrasound (some do it externally, while some do it internally. They'll ask you what seems like 1000 questions. That's what they did at mine. If you are using a new OBGYN, they'll also want all your medical history which will make it 2000 questions instead of 1000. : )
Don't worry. It'll all work out great. Congrats on your baby

It's very long and very uneventful. First they will take a family history from you, get your height weight, you pee in a cup (which you will be doing at EVERY appointment), get your blood, give you a pelvic exam, pap smear, check you for breast cancer, give you a due date, give you the pregnancy do's and dont's, then the doctor will answer any questions you may have. Goodluck and congrats

At your first appointment they will do a pap smear and a pelvic exam, get your starting weight, take a sample of your urine(these two things will be done at every appointment), do a physical exam, and take some blood so they can check for things like HIV.
