John Murtha left any part of heroism behind long ago. These people are not heroic or even particularly accomplished in any way. Murtha left the Marines and went into politics and decided money and power were more important than honor. He even attacked his own fellow Marines in Iraq while they were in harms way. He is truly despicable.

John Kerry was never a war hero. He spent 6 months in Vietnam as a resume enhancement, garnered some questionable purple hearts (knowing that three was a ticket out) for injuries fixable with band-aids. He spent an enormous amount of time selling out the military with made up stories of atrocities he never witnessed in places he never visited.

Harry Reid is a self-serving soon to be ex-senator who will go the same way Tom Dashel went once his constituents figure out he tells them one thing and then does another.

Nancy Pelosi is a megalomaniac that will not be speaker for very long.

Hillary Clinton is probably the least accomplished of the lot. Other than be married to Bill Clinton she has not accomplished much of merit in her life.

No, none of these can be considered heroic in any way. But I guess if you are a Liberal you have no problem redefining what heroic means the same way they redefined what a patriot is.

While I don't agree with Murtha or Kerry,I still thank them for serving. Reid and Pelosi,I really don't give much thought too. Hillary on the other hand, I'm so sick of already. I can't believe she's attacking Obama over an innocent dream that all kids have in school(I went to his site).

Murtha volunteered for service in the Vietnam War, serving from 1966 to 1967, serving as a battalion staff officer (S-2 Intelligence Section), receiving the Bronze Star with Valor device, two Purple Hearts and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry. He retired from the Reserves as a colonel in 1990, receiving the Navy Distinguished Service Medal.

I certainly respect Murtha's military service, but don't necessarily see eye to eye with him on the issues.

Kerry's military record is less clear. Some say he was active in Vietnam, and some basically say the got a paper cut over there. Nonetheless, he was over there and as such deserves some respect for that.

As far as the rest of your list is concerned, I spend my day trying to teach mathematics to the American youth, and do it for a lot less than Reid, Pelosi or Clinton. I consider myself more of a hero than those three.

John Murtha has a Bronze Star with Valor device, two Purple Hearts and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry. Sounds like a hero to me.

John Kerry has a Silver Star, Bronze Star, and three Purple Hearts. That also sounds like an American hero.

I can't think of any Republican hero's.

Murtha and Kerry served their country.

I wouldn't call them heroes though. They were just doing their job. Firefighters and cops also get paid for their work.

A hero is somebody who (((goes out of his/her way))) to do something good for somebody else despite the danger.

You do realize you said Murtha twice, right.

Murtha yes. Kerry, sort of. The rest, no. (In spite of the lies of the Bush campaign, Kerry volunteered to cruise the Mekong in a small boat, while Bush was weaseling his way out of a cushy spot in the ANG.)
