Hiring Bill James! Theo helped push the move to ever more rigorous thought by hiring the man who has done more than anyone else in recent history to really think about baseball--winning two WS titles in that time doesn't hurt, either.

Yo Kris you have won two world series in the last 4 years!!! SO THE F WHAT!!! Lets look at History and we will see who is the over all best baseball team my friend....Talking smack over 2 world series victories in 4 years...Lets see Boston get on a roll like the Yankees have done win 3-4 consecutively then you can start talking smack about who is the better team...Last I looked the Yanks finished 2 games behind Boston and if we did not get all the injuries I think we would have had a different outcome!!! Best move for Epstien has to be Schilling!!!

Maybe the moves he hasn't made. Like not resigning Damon and Pedro Martinez.
Really his best move might have been, and I hate to say it because I'm a huge Nomar fan, but trading him away for Cabrera in 2004. Or resigning Varitek because he is the best game caller in the Bigs.
They have also drafted really well under him, although that's more of a credit to the scouts than him personally.
I really don't care for him as a GM, think he has made a lot more bad moves than good, but we have two Word Series rings, so who cares?

There was no "Indians deal (Ramirez)" - he signed as a free agent.

Please get your facts straight before asking a question.

His best signing was Curt Schilling, a close second would be the Nomar for Orlando Cabrera and Doug Mientkiewicz (3-team deal).

I love Yankee fans - you're trying to talk trash about a GM that's won 2 World Series. How's that working for you?
