What is the longest amount of years a student can be held back? is there a limit to the age someone can be in high school?

You can be held back for as long as it takes for you to pass until you are 21.

When I was taking my GED, there was a kid who was in the 9th grade until he was 21 and then the school kicked him out.

At 21, you get kicked out without your diploma and then you can get your GED. Though obviously, you are not allowed to date anyone at the school since they would all be minors.

No one can be held in high school past 21 years of age! So yeah the answer is 21 years old!

I would guess that this is something that each school district decides for itself...

till they are 21 years old.. thats when the "special" kids graduate.
