is anybody out there serious about real, useful "alternative" science, "wind-up" radios, wind generators from old car parts etc?

Alternative in other countries means alternative medicine more than anything else.
I have hundreds of books on alternative therapies and value this category.
I am an Engineer by training and value the inventions of Trevor Bayliss who produced the first wind up radio for Africa.

I think that this Alternative section...along with the Parapsychology Section...are all used as an extension of the Paranormal Section. Sometimes if my Q doesn't seem to fit into the other 2 sections...I put it in Alternative. I really don't know the purpose of the Alternative section.

I hate the word 'alternative'. It pigeon-holes it and makes it sound tree-hugging and hippie.
Alternative energy, alternative medicine, alternative lifestyle. How can you describe three different categories with one word? They all have nothing to do with each other except that they are different from the norm.

Alternative science is itself a bit of an oxymoron. Unless of course you're talking about science fiction or cutting-edge theoretics.

and are you looking to get "alternative" changed to
"other" or
"science that only some people will look at the evidence" or
"suppressed science" or
"sudo science"
or are you just trying to delete the whole section and clean up your world by getting rid of things that you don't like ?
and could you please not use the abbreviation "S&M" as it usually means something else (or you are just trying to be funny) and I know what this is, and it really makes it hard for me to focus at work after I read post that refer to S&M.
