My friend was told at 20 weeks that she was probably having a girl and at 27 weeks they told her its a boy. My doctor said if the baby is sitting the way it should, it should be easier to tell the sex because I'm a small person. I find out the sex on the 18th but I was just wondering how many people got told the wrong sex?

Hi! Its possible for them to make mistakes, but there usually pretty much always right!! Ussually when there not to positive they let you know about it,Sometimes if the cord is in the way it makes it hard for them to says 100% the sex of the baby,And in your friends case i know she really wants to know the sex,but not noing makes it even more special at birth.
Good luck! And best wishes to your family and friends trough the holidays!! miracle

It's not that uncommon for the ultrasound tech to make a mistake. That's why they will usually say "It looks like a --- but I could be wrong."

However, they were right with mine. At my 20 week ultrasound they said "girl" and sure enough, she is.

the way they can tell is by seeing if the kid's urinary arrangements on a ultrasound machine. At 20 weeks in a boy it is some 6-7 milimetres in length - which means not all that easy to spot.
mistakes? plenty. Just prepare two names- just in case ;-))
