Question about the order of the sims 2 expansion packs?

I bought the Sims 2 pets, but it won't install because I need the regular Sims 2 first. I think there is a certain order you need to install them in to make them all work. I have Sims pets 2. I need to know what order the Sims 2 expansion packs go in. Thank you.

It doesn't matter which order you install them in, so long as you install the original Sims2, or Sims2 Deluxe edition first. (Deluxe edition is Sims2 and Nightlife expansion combined) You could skip all the rest of the expansions and just install Pets if you wanted. I recommend getting the Deluxe edition if you need the original. Ironically, I've even seen it at a cheaper price than just the original Sims2.

To add to Admiral's fine answer, "Teen Style Stuff" is the very last one.

You can't play Sims 2 Pets for PC without having Sims 2 because it's an expansion pack. Go out and buy Sims 2 (or Sims 2 Deluxe, which contains the Nightlife expansion pack) in order to play Sims 2.
