Yes... but I've almost gotten into accidents for that reason. Why must the animals run into the direction I'm swirving / veering in to?
Most of the time I will slow down and use my car horn to scare them into getting hit by another car (j/k, but I do use my horn and they move).
I have never hit an animal personally (I wasn't driving). But my friend ran over a cute cuddly little bunny rabbit (white one). He tried to swerve but it seemed to run in the direction he was moving. Maybe it was a suicidal / emo bunny?
I felt a little clunk / bump (twice... front then rear wheel). I told my friend, "You're going straight to hell man! You ran over a friggin bunny! WTF did it ever do to you?!"
Then he made some comment about natural selection. ^_^

I usually will stop and maybe swerve (if it jumps in my way at the last moment). I just dont want rotting squirrel guts all over my tires. Plus the whole not killing thing is nice too. lol.
A couple months ago I was driving up to my aunts house to cut their grass since my uncle was on medical leave and couldn't do it, and this bird gets the ingenious idea to fly into my lane and try to keep up. Well it was like 100 feet up when it flew into my lane going the same direction i was, then at about 50 feet it freaked and decided to fly up out of the way, but I was going about 75-80 mph and it was doing maybe 35, and well, I had a spot on my windshield from where the bird bounced. It bounced up and I looked in my rearview mirror and saw it almost hit the suv about 200 feet behind me. It missed by like a foot to the right. It hit my car so hard I thought it cracked my windshiled at first, so it's neck had to have been broken. poor bird.

I avoid hitting any animal if I can.
I have never hit an animal, though once I was cruising up a mountain road, came around a corner and there was a porcupine. I went right over him - didn't hit him though. He was fine.
Then, there was the time that the bunny committed suicide by running into my tire. I tried to avoid him, but he smacked it anyway. Poor little guy. I stopped, but there was nothing that could be done for him. I still feel bad about it, 6.5 years later...
