I sit on his lap every year at our towns Christmas kick off event. This year he sat on the step and I sat in Santa's chair! I didn't even ask for anything for Christmas this year. Just a photo!

No, in fact don't remember doing so as a kid!...but my Mom who has Alzheimer's sits on Santa's lap when he visits her assisted living home...she gets her pic taken and is always so excited! :-)

My grandkids sometimes cried....but one year we went to see this Santa who truly seemed so real - he even gave me the willies...so much so that I asked my daughter was I crazy...she said no, she got the same feeling...something about his eyes...her kids who usually had cried, IMMEDIATELY went to him with no problem whatsoever!

Celebration of Christmas in India is restricted to Christians.who are a minority there. Santa Claus is thus only a sectional character. While Hindus do participate in the festiviies with their Christian compatriots it is restricted to greetings and partying. Hindu children sitting inthe lap of Santa is a rare thing. I am myself as old as Santa(at least inlooks) and in my childhood the communiies maintained their respectable distance. There was therefore, no occasioon for me to be fondoled by Santa.

I really missed something.

I am a retired school teacher, but every year when I took my class to see Santa, I was the first one on his lap to show the children it was all right and nothing to be afraid of. One Santa gave out lollipops to everyone, and when I sat on his lap, he handed me a huge one - he said one little on wouldn't fill me up. I had to laugh!

I was 26 years old the first and last time I sat with Santa. My Son was two. He was having a screaming fit. He did not want anything to do with Santa, and I wanted a picture. So...I sat with them, we got the picture.....it was fun!

I think I'd break Santa if I sat in his lap now. My mother would get so mad at me when I was a child, because she'd wait hours in line for me to see Santa only to have me freak out when it was my turn. Close up, Santa is just really freaky looking!

Too many years have passed for me to remember. The elves would probably ask Santa to sit on my lap.

I get to sit on my uncle/santa's lap every year at the family Christmas party. I don't go willingly though. :/

I never sat a Santa's lap. We never got to do anything like that. My parents never took us to town very much to see stuff like that. I know I was deprived of this and a lot of everything else in my childhood.
