Oh, I am so sorry. It is a very hard thing to do, but just know in your heart that you stopped her suffering & that was your last act of love from your heart for her!!
I have had to do that three times, last time was June 7 of this year. Never does it get any easier.
Here is a beautiful poem you may like to read. I have had it hanging on my refridgerator for the past 4 years now. The first time I read it was on a cancer vet specialist's wall when I was trying to find a way to save my Dobie boy's life.

If that is Cheyenne you have added to your avatar she was beautiful !!

I am so sorry for your loss. I went through the same thing 3yrs and 10 months ago with my Yellow Lab Molly, she was only 6 yrs old and had cancer, it still hurts to think about it, but the pain does lessen with time. At least you were brave enough to let her go with some dignity instead of letting her suffer to the bitter end.
In time you will feel ready to share your home with another pet, I did and now have Amy a Yellow Lab and Milly a Chocolate Lab, even though they will never replace Molly, they do help fill the gap that she left.

I am so sorry for you...I feel your Pain. We Had a Jack Russell for I2 Yrs, and Loved that little Precious Thing so-o-o- Much. He was just another member in Our Family. One Morning as My son-in-law was leaving for work, He accidentally Ran Over Him. ( He was under the Truck) Of course By now, He was getting a Little Feeble . He was just put out side a few minutes before, to relieve Himself. We Really Miss Him, and buried Him Outside Our bedroom Windows. But Now we have another, and He is very precious also. He has taken our other one's Place very well. So, Your Pain will go away after some time, Dear.

I am so sorry. I lost my 13 year old Lab to cancer. It will 4 years in February. I know how hard that decision is. Letting her go was one of the toughest decisions I ever made. I just wanted to make sure she wasn't in pain anymore.
I'm sure your girl will be waiting for you at the bridge. It sounds like she was a special dog if you were able to take her to work with you every day. That's a wonderful life for a lab. The thing they want the most is to be with their people. You must have made her a happy dog!
Big hugs to you.

A Lab oh, she must of been a hand full I hear the are very energetic.
I had to put my ferret to sleep who was quite young because she kept eating ever thing and anything she could get a hold of and finally did something to her stomach, I felt so horrible, the next was my cat also young she had a kidney disease. I still feel the loss because they both should of still lived for years, I guess these are the animals I am supposed to get they pick me out when I am in to adopt.
I am glad for the time I had with them anyway

I just lost my beloved cat "Snowy" whom we called
"Little One" just a few weeks ago to Kindney Disease.
She died a day before her operation to have a mass removed.
It is still very hard, and I still cry a little about her.
I had her for 18 wonderful years and she was the sweetest little kitty I could have known.
I have lost many pets over the years --mostly cats, but one German Shepard Dog who I believe was an angel on earth.
They are more than just pets to us... they are family. They are everything good and wonderful and give so much to make our lives brighter. They are our hearts.
Your beautiful Lab was loved and she knew it.
She is happy now and out of all her pain and she is waiting for you when you arrive in heaven.
Happy... free... and forever young and healthy.
God will take care of her until you come to get her.
In the meantime, remember her... cherish her... and continue to love her.
I know you will as I will remember and continue to love mine.
Peace and God Bless.

I had to a few years ago with my dog, Chopper. I had raised him since he was two weeks old. Bottle fed him. I have no children, and he was my child. I sat in a room at the vets office with him and cried like a baby knowing his minutes were numbered. He also had a tumor on his liver, and I had tried everything...even alternative medicine.Yes, it is a hard thing to do. You have my sympathy and my tears.

We almost had to put my dog to sleep cause he was really old and started to quit eating and I would sit with him and just cry begging him to eat something and my dad said that we was going to have to take him and put him down but the next morning he had passed away!!!!! I cryed forever and I was so depressed I didn't eat for two days over it!! I had him for over 14 years!!!!! He was my baby! Got him when I was 7 and he passed away when I was 21. We buried him out in the back yard and my mom's friend made this wooden cross with his name on it...I can't believe it's been almost six years since he's been gone. So I'm sorry for your lose...

You lost a member of your family today. I'm so sorry for your loss. Our animals are our family aren't they? But know that you kept her from suffering. My German Shepherd got cancer of the liver. We had to do the same thing to him. I was so traumatic, but we held him in our arms as they administered the solution, and then he just went to sleep. It was so peaceful, and his pain was over. The vet and his staff couldn't have been more caring of our pain. Take care... be safe and well, as well as you can be under the circumstances.

Mike, I am so sorry and I feel for you. I have had to do the same thing. Yes it is going to be hard for awhile & she has left her memories with you. The void of her is almost unbearable, isn't it ??. My son's beautiful blue eyed dog had to be put down recently. He lives in another state & I so wanted to reach out and Mother my Son, remembering how he hurt as a child over a little parakeet.~~~~~~
Blessings to you Mike & grown men do cry & its o.k.~~~~
