If you search for bowtie christmas party games on google or yahoo you should get to a bowtieproducts site that will give you 5 new original games that will help make your nite fun.

Some of the games especially Sandys Christmas Carol game can be adjusted for nearly any age 8 and up.

For parties mixers like this work because they give folks something to do while they get warmed up to each other. if they want to talk, they can talk, but if conversatrion lags games like these take up the awkward silences that many of us dread.

Whats nice is that people don't all have to be in it to enjoy it. Some can just help out if asked or enjoy the groans of the answer section.

If links work in the answer blocks here's the link

there is also some party giving advice you may enjoy.

My wife and I made up the puzzles and many people really enjoy them.

I hope they work out well for you

Guesstures is a good party game, men v. women is easiest way to split a big group. It's like charades but with a time limit and set rules, and works really well with big groups.

Also, if it's at your place and you remember how many lights are on the tree, you can have everybody write down how many lights they think are on the tree as they are walking in the door, and the closest guess gets a prize.

Of course, there's the "white elephant" gift exchange. Ask around if you've never been to one - somebody you know probably has. It can be the highlight if people get into it.

Uno and its modern varieties also work with bigger groups, if there's lots of kids. Mad Gab can be a fun one too, although sometimes there's 1 or 2 people that are just shockingly faster than everyone else at it, and it sucks the fun out of it.

we play a game that requires the host to buy say 5 items at the $ store. make sure they are recognizable to the touch, but not to easy. wrap them up like a gift without a bow and then have everyone sit in a circle, start one gift one way and after a few guesses and misses start another gift the other way. the one that guesses the present correctly gets to open and keep. if not one, give one simple clue and start again reminding everyone of what has been guessed, lots of fun and can be very humors too.

There is also white elephant, where guest brings a gift and then you put slips of paper in a hat, (how many numbers in the hat depends on how many gifts) each person then takes turns picking a number out of the hat to make it fair as to what order the gift picking goes. Then in order people pick a gift, you can pick an unwrapped present or one that has already been opened, which then the person that the gift was taken from would have to pick from someone else or get a new gift to unwrap, goes on until last gift has been open.

Merry Christmas, hope you have lots of fun.

Some really good games at any party would be any of the four Guitar Hero games. Any of the Dance Dance Revolution games or Rock Band.

Unlike all the comedians on here...I'll attempt a real answer.
Most of my family's and friends' Christmas parties have games of some sort. Pictionary is a good old standard and is actually a lot of fun if you have a giant easle. I would keep it as simple as possible soas not to exclude potential players. Men vs. women trivia pursuit or charades is always fun.

Nowadays, it is hard to find an entertaining action games on Windows, because most of the games are typically simple and boring first person shooters. Most of these games are not good enough. Until I try to install this amusing game on my PC, and this game is called Chicken Invaders
Give it a try.

I think Apples to Apples and Killer Bunnies should be played at every party but I'm kind of a nerd.

martadim666's answer makes me think that you have a great idea! It sure beats getting drunk or high.

I'd say that your best bet is whatever board game is at your disposal. Then there is also plain old card games like pitch.
