that goes around thumbing down good or excellent answers & at times, ALL answers to a question. Do you think they are in a certain age group?
Also wondering why someone would get a kick out of giving thumbs down? I have even seen it done on personal opinion answers.

The question about age. I think they are young, bored & evil spirited. Not going anywhere in life. Could be older that have a screwed life already, because of poor choices in life.
It must be very sad to be so messed up. Some life. ~~~

I don't think that immaturity has an age. Today is a school day for example and most young people would be at school. It's sad isn't it? So it must be people of different ages - or at least they should be adult enough to let someone have their own opinion. But I figure it gives them something to do with their boring and sad little lives. Pathetic, really.

I don't even know if it's truly because their revengeful. I think some of them just think it's funny and have absolutely nothing better to do. That's why I wish it would show who gives thumbs down and up. I think a lot of these chickens hiding behind a computer would ... disappear!

Peace to you ...

I think those who give thumbs down are young teenagers who have nothing to do at home. They think they know everything. It's very annoying that I receive tons of thumbs down when I answer some opinion type questions. I hope Yahoo is going to do something about this.

People think the thumbs down feature is there for answers they don't agree with, and it's not. It takes away from the whole thing.

I only give thumbs down to incorrect answers. I'll thumbs up an answer that has gone above and beyond "the call of duty."

On another note, I've found it helpful to include in my questions, "No thumbs down please, let's keep this fun." And I've noticed people will respect this, which is so cool. I always thank answerers when I notice that they've really made a sincere effort to keep a handle on their thumbs.

Yeah, I've seen this too and have to agree with the others that say it's probably younger people doing it out of boredom. What gets me is when you get thumbs down for describing your own experience on something. Let's take a guess on just how many thumbs down occur on this one.

They are most definitely a certain age group. Remember when you were a teenager, or a pre-teen, and thought you knew everything? And anyone who told you different HAD to be wrong (sorry, don't mean to generalize, this is how MANY of them are though)? Well... that is who the thumb-down fairy's are.

Of course, there are a few older people who are in denial about what they are doing and have to criticize others for pointing it out.

Yeah, getting thumbs-down frequently is incredibly stressful, yet a minimum of it does not impression your factors in any respect. Now getting reported by using distinctive trolls.... that's yet another tale.

I know what's up with that! I got a thumbs down today on an answer that I gave and it was really sad answer about my parents!! I was pissed! =( They are probably children if not they are definitely childish for doing it!! Thumbs down should be given only if the answer is way stupid or hurtful.

I know. Some people are just obnoxious and i think some do it if they get a thumbs down themselves. And YES!!! why would anyone give a thumbs down to a personal opinion? An opinion is just that.
Q:"What should I name my new black kitten?" A: "Midnight" Zap!!*thumbs down* What's with that?

They object to the question in many cases or even just to the subject matter of the question. There is a dedicated group of anti-hunters who seem to take turns going through all the hunting questions and giving askers and answerers all a thumbs down. Don't feel you are alone.
