It's difficult to determine, but Cygnus X-1 (about 8,000 light years away) is generally thought to be the closest black hole to Earth. This system contains a star in orbit around a black hole -- matter is being stripped off the star by the black hole's gravity and forms an accretion disk, which gives off very strong X-ray emissions.

We are unable to find a black hole because of it's colour and density. It's black colour will make it impossible to find a black hole.
If we do find a black hole, it will most likely be too late to get off the planet.

I think there may be one closer than the center of the Galaxy, but it is still thousands of light years away.

If micro-blackholes are proven to exist, then there may very well be some floating around in your head right now.
