Did North American culture ever have morals? Is this a result of our societies being founded on the blood of an entire nation of aboriginal people? Is it because of money? I see many things that I am disgusted by taking place everyday on our continent.

Below are some loose opinions you may like to consider.

The USA is a very individualistic and permissive society on the whole, with the exception of illegal gangs who have a perverted tribalism. Countering this is lip service to a brand of Christianity that is often biased towards meeting the needs of the rich, or valueing money and power over charity.

Higher density poulations also tend to dehumanize people such that people become imune to the suffering of those about them.

Poverty also leads to increased crime and disrespect for law. If the money being spent on the war on terror was directed into providing free basic needs for all citizens, we may have a decrease in poverty and drug related crimes.

Also the advent of the fast-food / fast-everything lifestyle is loosing many traditions and traditional skills and values.

If I were in charge of the USA I would ban lethal guns and pop culture promoting violence or drug use. I would also rejig the legal and welfare systems to ensure more equity between rich and poor, by providing all with basic human needs & justice.

No one sees that this country is making the stupidest decisions it possibly could? We are civilized? We permit murder but name it abortion so that makes it ok? We allow illegal aliens into this country without question.... Now homosexuality is not a sin. People who get caught with an ounce of weed get more prison time that child molestors and murderers. The senate bill 777 allows children to make up their mind whether they want to be boys or girls, and also allows boys in high school to go into the girls locker rooms if they decide they're a girl that day, which no doubt will cause more rape. Our goverment covers everything up with "The terrorists did it." Meanwhile they're going to bohemian grove to practice satanic rituals. Women don't raise their own children anymore, and when they actually do it's looked down upon. Men aren't men anymore. Instead of spending our tax money on things needed to be done in our country, they spend 338.3 billion dollars on illegal aliens. We make our people spend 20 hours a day at work to just get by in life. We don't teach our children right from wrong. We don't teach our children how to have respect. We don't treat eachother right. We don't see that our children get the right education. Everything taught in the public school system is set upon a political agenda or a social agenda. We have a country full of adulterouses, liars, theives, whores, murderers, illegal aliens, sickos, heathens, self righteous people, rapists, pedophiles, and useless nonworking b@stards. This is surely Babylon. YES, western culture in the 21st century is degenerate, hedonistic, and immoral and at the same time thinks it civil and civilized.

I think the loss of morals has always been here, just now it is thrown in front of us on the media.
Years ago in the 1800s no one knew what was going on unless you were near it. There were people with bad morals back then, too. But the more people there are in the world, the more corruption there will be to keep up with the population.

Morals are rules. People obey rules generally out of fear of the consequences. People ignore rules when they feel free to do so. Our society values personal freedoms, so our laws put a great emphasis on letting people do as they please. We limit our laws to deal with situations where personal freedoms conflict.

Still there are lots of self-righteous people in our society who think they should have the right to tell others how to live their lives. That is basically what 'morality' is about.

Sometimes I think that then I see something like when we dig in and help people who have experienced tragedy and I think the world hasn't gone to crap. We as a whole, I think, are not bad people. I think we care and love each other, but just like in any family, you have the "crazy" ones....

Each generation gets more permissive. Four letter words used to be rude /obscene but are now normal speech. Sex is an all day event. Every civilization has gone down the tubes as their morals degraded. So will this one.

Morals don't exist. Are they supposed to be something good? Good things don't really exist. Everything is a perception of the mind. Does the mind really exist? No, this is also just another perception. Does my answer really exist? No, this is also just another perception.
