Of course it will. Its just a matter of how badly.
His competition (Hillary in this case) I think is far more damaged by being such a sleezy witch however...so I think it washes out for the nomination anyways. :)

So the "patriotic" South never ceceded from the union and that civil war thing is just a myth? You know as well as anyone else that one area of the country is no more patriotic than any other. There may still be strong pockets of bigotry in the South but it is not exclusive to the South. I suggest you do some reading and research before you make such claims about regions of the country or political candidates. By the way what "questionable heritage" does Senator Obama have? It is really clear to anyone who has done their home work on him.

Questionable Heritage? Not like the those whose ancestors held human beings in bondage as property in the south. Not like those whose ancestors exploited, maimed and even killed workers, including children in mad drive to make a buck at all costs in the North. Not like the those whose ancestors slaughtered entire encampments of Native Americans in the West. Yes, questionable Heritage, not like good solid White European American Heritage that is not open to any questioning at all.

The south is racist? How many black people have been elected in the North East? Of course there is racism in the south and everywhere else. Obama has 4 problems. Inexperience, his name, his Muslim background and his color. Sorry if that seems racist, it is not. Just my opinion.

Let's rephrase the question....
"Will the fact that Obama is of mixed heritage damage his prospects with racist Whites, like you'd find in the South?"
Yes, it will. But who cares, they're a dying breed.

It wouldn't surprise me. Not because the South is more patriotic but because the south is more conservative. The thought of someone who went to a muslim school as a kid (whether they are practicing Islam or not) being in office is more than most southerrners will allow.

What's questionable about his heritage?
The people in the South weren't bothered by voting for a rich north-east elite born into a wealthy Conneticut family when they voted for GWB!

Okay. That is extremely offending. Saying that states in the South are more Patriotic than states in the North is horrible. Just a heads up, but the Southern States WERE the ones that tried to secede... And by the way... I'm from the South... (Midwest really, but Missouri is considered South by some)
Please choose your words more carefully next time.

In the primaries, being black might be an asset, in the general election, who cares; those states go red anyway.
