To the person that said " vice is peddled in poor neighborhoods" you are right it does happen like that but in an affluent neighborhood it's just more underground. Don't forget though, half of the buyers come from the RICH neighborhoods to get their drugs in the poor areas so they contribute to the problem just as much as the crackheads from the poor neighborhoods.
I think they need to revamp the customs system because honestly do you really think all of the drugs that get through are unseen by customs? Somebody high up is getting paid to look the other way or else there wouldn't be half as many drugs getting into the country.
There would also need to be more police on the streets to catch the dealers and users but then the next step is getting rid of the corrupt cops (yes they do exist) that look the other way as well.

Legalize it.
If drugs were made legal, they would be sold by companies instead of neighborhood gangs .
If a large company is making the drugs then the government would impose regulation to make sure the drugs are not tainted with fatal poisons. They would also have to pay taxes on the drugs they sell.
Most of you will think I'm crazy, but the US has spent billions on the war on drugs and the drugs are still out there. They are around because people still want them.
We supposedly live in a "Free society" so really you should let people have the freedom to choose what they want to put in their own bodies.
Also the government is hypocritical. Alcohol is a legal drug that causes tons of deaths and abuse every year.
The safest of all drugs is marijuana. Safer then alcohol or cigarettes. It's non-addictive and impossible to OD on.

Our present establishment will not be able to eliminate the drug trade, due to too many holes in the system, and too much poverty were as people will sell drugs and get a good amount of money, compared to working at some poor paying job with no benefits. There are also so many police per neighborhood, which is not close to what is really needed to stem the tide.
It's obvious that humans will not change their corrupt ways. What we really need is divine intervention. I'll leave it up too you to figure that out.

M G is close to the solution. In actuallity, the ONLY way the government can stop drug trade is to remove the profit from it. Once the profit is gone, there is no longer any reason to sell it.
Taking the profit away from the drug trade is extremely simple. All that has to be done is to make it legal. While we would suffer a generation of drug addicts, this would mearly be a temporary situatiuon.
Legal crack would be so cheap that no one would have any reason to push it onto your children in an effort to create new customers.

I agree with the above.
The government is aware of the influx of drugs into our country. If the stop it....it will have a negative effect on our economy (similar to illegal immigration....but i digress).
They use drugs to control the ghettos and small urban communities. They need it. The way to stop it is for more jobs to become available and to improve school giving way to education and better futures.
Don't hold your breath for that either.

Take away the demand. It seems as there will be no end to this problem. Vice is always peddled in poor neighborhoods. It seems to me that the law enforcement agencies allow it. If I stood on the corner in my neighborhood selling crack I would be arrested in a matter of minutes.

and pass a law that gives our law enforcement people some guts, to work with, send all the lawyers who think there clients rights have been violated to irak

They'll never get rid of drugs. Ever. Qith no drugs, do you know how many people would be out of a job? How many tax dollars they wouldnt be able to waste on "drug control"? The world is corrupt.

Stop the companies from producing the chemicals that the drug dealers use to make the drugs. We can use not toxic ,natural cleaners and meds. That's a start.
GOD BLESS
