x = pounds of peanuts

then x + 15 = total pounds of mix

5.25(15) + 2.5(x) = 3.75(x+15)
78.75 + 2.5x = 3.75x + 56.25
22.5 = 1.25x
18 = x

18 pounds of peanuts

x = amount of peanuts to be added
15* 5.25 + 2.5x = (15+x)3.75
78.75 + 2.5x = 56.25 + 3.75x
78.75 -56.25 = 3.75x- 2.5x
22.5 = 1.25x
18 =x = pounds ofpeanuts to be added
