Problem 1:

Step 1: Distribute the 4 into (9 - 4z).

2z - (36 + 12z) = 62

Step 2: Place like terms on the same side of the equation.

2z + 12z = 62 + 36

Step 3: Solve.

14z = 98

z = 7

Problem 2:

Step 1: Multiply the whole equation by 3 (which is the denominator).

-102 = 9d + 8

Step 2: Solve.

-110 = 9d

-12.22 = d

Hope I helped!

2z - 4 (9-3z) = 62
2z -36 +12z = 62
14z = 62+36 = 98
z = 98/14 = 7

-34 =3d +8/3
-102 = 9d +8
-110 = 9d
- 12 2/9 = d

2z - 4 (9-3z) = 62

2z - 36 + 12z = 62 {distribute the -4}

14z - 36 = 62 {combine like terms}

14z = 98 {add 36 to both sides}

z = 7 {divide both sides by 14}

- 34 = 3d + 8/3

- 102 = 9d + 8 {multiply both sides by 3}

- 110 = 9d {subtract 8 from both sides}

- 110/9 = d

Maybe you meant to write

- 34 = (3d + 8)/3

- 102 = 3d + 8

- 110 = 3d

- 110/3 = d

2z-36+12z=62
(+ together the z's) 14z-36=62
(+36 to both sides) 14z=98
(/ both sides by 14) z=7

3d + 8/3 = -34
so.. (-8/3 from both sides) 3d= -34-8/3
8/3 is equal to 2 2/3 so... 3d=-34-2 2/3
3d=-31 1/3
d= 31 1/3 divided by 3

Hope that works

If you need d in a decimel form, i will give the answer in a minute.

2z-36+12z=62
14z-36=62
14z=98
z=7

-34=3d+8/3
multiply both sides by 3
-102=9d+8
-110=9d
d=-110/9
