Sims 2 Castaway?

Can you make your own character's?Because like everywhere you go,you see all the same character's.I know that it is under my christmas tree.So...

In the Sims 2 Castaway, you can create up to six sims. It isn't as expansive as the other Sims games, with the customization of your sims looks. There are a few base face structures, and a few base body structures, and you can tweak them slightly. There is also only a few sets of full face makeup for women, and a very few amount of facial hair for men. You will be able to create your own sim's clothes, there are ton's of different pieces to chose from, around 50 different patterns to make, and you can dye them in different colors when you find certain clays and such.

It is very true that this game is NOT the same as regular sims, but it IS actually slightly open ended. Though you can finish and complete all the goals and objectives, you can also stay at the islands and continue life there. Though there is no multi-generational play, it can still last for a while. I stayed on the islands, and tried to build a resort like hut on each island. I find the gameplay quite enjoyable, even if only for a couple of weeks until you beat the game. :)

You most likely can make your own character like you can on every sim game. It only seems like you see the same charaters everywhere because they are the ones designed for the advertisements.

I don't know. It seems to me that you can't because it's not your ordinary Sims game; you have a set goal and objectives to complete, and the game is designed as such. It's not open ended like Sims 2 for the PC; you actually have something to accomplish.
