it is never too deep, go as deep as you want, the hole will let you ;)

Most bulbs should be planted at 6-8 inches in the ground.

if the hole swallows the bulb and you can't find it, it's too deep. Try an inch to two inches of dirt over the bulb and you should be fine..

I dont like bulbs that are to big. I like to plant them in the back yard.
