Stinging barbs of brutal critique,
Roasted Rack of Lambasting,
Raw, unseasoned, seared,
Bone and sinew exposed,
Offered poetic feast,

Vomitorium flow,
Figurative flush down the tube,
Heartfelt sorrow, shame,
Audience enflamed,
Bored, dismayed,
Ordinary, unheralded,
Unclaimed.
Shipwrecked on the reef of indignity

Are they making love...or selecting from the lunch menu? I can never tell...

Yes, it's violent!
"Shipwrecked on the reef of indignity", good, good.

"Stinging barbs of brutal critique", does this refer to me?

:)

EDIT: my little horseradish, just about exhausted by that lecture on mustard. One left today. And, of course, I want to know how YOU are.

I think it's pretty good. I have a problem where if a poem or description has a lot of imagery, I don't see anything in my head. Like sensory overload. Although I don't see much in my head, this poem flows nice. It's got good alliteration, and the subject matter is good. I especially like the line

Figurative flush down the tube

:)

The whole poem reminds me of some of the criticism I've endured :P

I think it's pretty good. Got any more?

Roast rack of lambasting. Yeah, this one's good. The trials and tribulations of a 21st Century bard. Shipwrecked (and marooned no doubt) on the reef of indignity. Oooo, nice metaphor. You misspelled reefer.

You know something? A day here is never complete without seeing and answering a poem from ol' TD Euwaite where he asks the inevitable question...... "Do you like my poem?"

What a vision you paint with your words, normally you do well in every one of your poems, but this one is special. So special, Jerry Lewis needs to hear about it. But that would lead to another question.

All kidding around aside, nice, very nice poem. I love the way you take us on a journey with your poem's, TD. Good stuff.

Yes it is, and I'll tell you why...
Poets get roasted every minute for their best, and, worst works!
And this poem is the description of that feast that the public has on their poems...the audience's reactions...and, finally, the feelings of the unfortunate poet!
Excellently well done, images fit the theme, emotions of the roasted poet very apparent!

Well done!!!

Not to me. It does show some potential for the writer though I fear the theme is far too personal to appeal to many of the rest of us.

it's good, but a bit too mild for me... I would like to hear more blood and guts... I mean, bone and sinew exposed was good, but it only whetted my appetite...
EDIT: Annabella, my calvados, how are you today ?
