When you see them getting into your/other person's business just stare at them until they take offensive or feel uncomfortable. When they ask why they are staring tell them that you're being nosy. Some people will understand what you're doing but most others (depending where you live) won't.

For these busybodies, there is a never-ending "need" to know everything that is happen around them, even if it does not remotely affect them in the slightest manner. There seems to be a sort of paranoia that accompanies their apparent nosiness as they feel threatened if anything is happening behind their backs. Usually, these types also turn out to be control freaks who feel that they must influence every single outcome of events.
The best way to cope with nosy people is to simply avoid them whenever possible. In situations where you absolutely cannot, try not too feed their insatiable appetite for information. A simple refusal should be enough. Giving them false or misleading information in order to get them off your back tends to make matters worse; the busybody will turn every stone to confirm anything, and once they realized they've been had, busybodies will unleash their wrath against you.

People often do this because they have a low self esteem and when they get in others business to "help" them it makes them feel needed and they like that. Also I have noticed people do this when they are unsatisfied with their life so hearing about the probelms in others lives makes them feel happier about their own life.

I have a hard time dealing with nosy people too. Occasionally I just have to tell someone to mind their own business.

You have no control over them. The only thing you have control over is how you allow it to affect you. I choose not to let nosy people bother me. 2D
