well when I was young, growing up, it was more of a family effort, but every part of it was a tradition for us.
My dad would get and put the tree up, than we would decorate the tree together and have hot chocolate and sometimes, even, there would be treats as well. Mom did most of the other decorating of the house because she loved it. She did all the baking and shopping and ... wait, come to think of it, I guess MOM DID DO MOST OF IT HERSELF.. she enjoye dit though, Christmas was her FAVORITE holiday and favorite time of year.

Mom has always done everything from gift buying to wrapping to decorating to putting up the tree to cooking to cleaning! Of course when we kids were little we helped to decorate the tree. Now we all bring side dishes so she doesn't have to do ALL the cooking. Dad will help decorate the tree a bit now that the kids are out, but she does the majority and for the most part she loves it!

Nope- its ALL me- the mom who does it all! We all put the tree up together but everything else is all up to me including the shopping, the baking, the wrapping of presents, the invites to dinner, the decorating of inside and out. My hubby works 12 to 16 hrs a day and is way past tired by time he gets home and my teenage son well.......just the teen part should tell it all! LOL But I dont mind- I love Christmas!

during Christmas time, it's all the family, Christmas spirit to contribute :-)
we enjoy helping out and being a part of just every detail, the Christmas decoration, the food menu, the calls to relatives inviting them over, the cards to send for the loved ones who can't make it or just won't, the food preparation... it's just a beautiful time for families and gathering of loved ones :-)

We never help her with the cleaning coz she prefers to do it herself. She usually opens up the Christmas Tree and the whole family will decorate it together including the house. My sister and I are always in-charge of wrapping up the gifts.

I am a mother and I do ALL of the work throughout the entire year and I get sick of it. I wanted to eat Christmas dinner out this year, but my husband said "no" and then added that he would help cook dinner and clean up afterwards, but I don't expect it will happen in reality.

But Hooray Hooray!! Mommy says this year we are going to my Aunt Joanne's house for Christmas! And so I wont even have to clean under my bed or pick up the house, hardly.

No. it's more fun when the whole family chips in to trim the tree, make dinner and generally help out. it also creates memorable memories for the future. dont let mom do all the work!!
