From where I see it, the NFL is a league of professionals. I know sometimes the players and coaches don't act lke professionals. Does this give the officials the right to talk like that? As far as I'm concerned, I would have been severely po'ed by that comment too. That is blatantly disrespectful.
BTW, I am NOT a disgruntled Raven fan. I am a Steeler fan. Nuff said.

Who said I made an issue of this? Just asking a question. If you don't like it, well that's your right. But ya don't have to act like an idiot.

William B.
BTW, Rolle didn't throw the flag in the stands, that would have been Bart Scott.

maybe that official is racist...maybe he just calls all young men "boy"...maybe he didnt even say it..maybe he did...my point is it doesnt really matter..you never know for sure so why even worry about it...the ravens played a great game until they gave it away with the stupid penalties and turnovers in the end...they cant blame the refs, they need to look in the mirror if they wanna point the finger at anyone..and as for that timeout, if you watch the replay and actually pay attention, you will see the coach calling for a timeout, then the ref reacting, THEN the snap..the pats didnt win that game, the ravens LOST it..thats how i see it...just my thoughts, great question..
EDIT--- ok i just saw the video...i dont think the ref is racist because he is black too..it looks like the ravens were getting on the refs and it was just that ref in particular that wasnt gonna just take it, he responded...i agree with you that his response by calling rolle a boy was totally out of line and not professional...that being said, i still dont think the refs helped the pats...the ravens gave it away after playing great the entire game

He was probably told to stop acting like a little boy or something if the conversation ever took place to begin with. Or maybe the ref said "boy you need to calm down" or something. Rolle can get mad all he wants but the reality is he was acting like a little baby and it is his fault- NO ONE ELSES.
I hate the Patriots but was glad they won because of the antics and behavior of the Ravens. Rolle should be ashamed of himself but he wasnt alone. For the questionable calls agaisnt the Ravens, they also got away with some obvious infractions and for those who cannot figure it out, the RAVENS are the fools that called the time out not the refs or the Patriots

Whether some of you know it or not it's well known in the African American community that calling a grown man "boy" is the same as calling him the "N" word. If the official did it he was way out of line. How is it going to proven I can't say. It's their word against the ref.
Either way the league will investigate.
As for the thug comment someone said again when you make comments like that I can only assume you know first hand whether he was a thug from personal experience with him. If not that would be the same as me calling you an idiot and I've never actually met you.

I don't think it was racist. Rolle started it by commenting to the official saying ,"you have never played football" and the official was just putting a cocky youngster in his place. That official, McKennily, did play in the NFL in the 70's and 80's

Sounds like he deserved it by trashing the ref first, the ref rightly put him in his place. Is there a rule saying the ref's can't respond or are subordinate to the players, some of you seem to think so. Now where's that ref Joe Gibbs wants to blame for telling him it was cool to call 2 straight timeouts?

The official was out of line for doing. The way I see it, the officials were a$$holes to the Ravens and knew that the calls being made were not right calls. Ravens were pissed and showed it, but the officials had no right to retaliate.
I am not a Ravens fan either, I am a Cowboys and Bengals fan, but next week I will have to pull for the Steelers to beat the $hit out of the Pats! Blitzburg will have them in check and hopefully they will not get BS calls like the Eagles and Ravens did.
For next week and next week only, can't believe I am saying this, GO STEELERS!!!

Who cares? Seriously, be a friggin' man Samari, do not throw the flag and calm the freak down. Costing your team 15 yards is inexcusable, boy.:)
Rolle is a friggin' Moron. A man can be called anything and not lose his cool. A boy costs his team.
BTW, you are a Steeler fan? Gee, Pittsburgh is sooooo proud.:)

I think the fact that McKinley is black only makes it worse. He knows what that kind of name calling means. Rolle is out there to hit people and smack talk is part of the athletes' game. The official is supposed to be policing and that requires a higher level of professionalism, imho.

Yes, I am sure Samari Rolle was entirely professional in politely voicing his complaint. The guy told Rolle to grow up in so many words, its good advice for Rolle and Ray Lewis for that matter.
