Vinegar is good if you want ORGANIC cleaning method and not to mention cheap... If you are cleaning really dirty wood floors vinegar is the way to go.. Just don't saturate the wooden floors OR they will warp... It's also a good idea to take some old towels and dry the floors.... However, if it's just linoleum get two mops or mop heads... I like the libman wondermop which has removeable washable head(s) and use Lysol or Pinesol and a bucket of warm to hot water. Give the floor a good once over and then again with a clean mop/mop head and clean water... Dry with old towels.. You may have to repeat the process if the floors are really dirty..
As for carpets rent a steam cleaner.... I like to use a bit of laundry detergent like woolite or something of that nature about 1/3c. AND I put about 1/3c. of baking soda in the water/soap solution as well.. Adjust soap/baking soda according to the volume of water your steamer unit holds... Dissolve the bs in hot water before adding to machine....
The bs will neutralize any odors from your carpet and the laundry soap will clean the carpet fibers.... Good luck

When cleaning dirty floors add one cup of White Vinegar to a three quarter full bucket of hot water mop then rinse with clean cold water and allow to air dry do not add any cleaners to your water with this method just mop with the vinegar, it will clean and disinfect the floor and leave it shiny Good Luck !
And when cleaning Carpets you can add just one cup of White Vinegar to the steam cleaners resevoir if using this method no additional shampoos needed, vinegar will clean and soften your carpet and make it look like new again Good Luck !

THE BEST WAY IS TO HAVE ME COME OVER AND CLEAN IT!! HAHA...I USE THE PURPLE MR. CLEAN. IT WORKS GR8 & SMELLS AWESOME! FOR CARPETS, I GET A FOAMING CARPET CLEANER & SCRUB. GOOD LUCK;)
