It is funny this is a lose leader for them.
Many accounts were deleted and were paying accounts, that means lost revenue. Since they violate question of mine that are mostly designed to get a laugh they will not have me use their links to make a purchase. That is one of the biggest ways they get paid by link sales.
Anyway they are and have upset a lot of people with this project and I am sure it is a lose leader, plus people will boycott them as I am, with my money not my opinions.

What place do opinions have on a question and answer site? None. Political questions would either be trivia related, or opinionated but educational, looking for ideas on how political philosophies stack up against each other. What you see on Yahoo Answers is a lot of trolls tirelessly posting insulting pseudo-questions to get a rise out of people. I have no problem with that content and the account holders being tossed for that.

I agree and hope it happens sooner than later. There is nothing worse than a "one way street" and one can find all kinds of opinions here, but mainly leaning in one direction....The main direction wont stand to hear any arguments factual or not, that goes against their ideas--and they tend to cowardly report it so it can be removed, saying they are offended..That is the main problem with YA!

I don't know. It seems like someone stated I violated the community rules by providing a link to support the American soldiers by sending cards and letters or even gifts for Christmas.
My question was deleted for solicitation! Yahoo, or someone on Yahoo doesn't like a patriotic gesture.
Maybe because saying "Christmas" is not politically correct?

they don't actively delete questions... it starts with someone clicking on "report abuse"...because they don't agree with you...then anything that could be deemed "offensive" is removed. Like the letters "wtf", or saying someone is an idiot, ....everything is up to interpretation.
Is it wise..? Not really, considering it doesn't encourage people to ask the tough provacative questions for fear that their profiles will get deleted. Kind of negates the purpose of using Y Answers...
Also you have to remember that this is the politics section. Most censorship occurs here, and religion....but other sections, people are not as anal about reporting "abuse"...

Yahoo! would lose a lot more money if their sponsors left because of offensive hate speech.

Really, opinions should be able to be stated, however, people really abuse that privilege. Ever notice that?
