Do you think it's right to hit a woman?

A male colleague says that sometimes women deserve to be hit. Obviously most people now avoid him like the plague and were shocked by his comment. What do you guys think??

Speaking as someone who was hammered as a child, I deplore all violence. No human being has the right, or excuse, to hit another. This principle works both ways, man hit woman, or woman hit man. Often on comedy television, a woman punches a man, this I find uncomfortable. If your male colleague believes that sometimes women deserve to be hit, he is obviously a bully, and bullies are best avoided.

If it was a woman I'd never met before with clear psychiatric symptoms running towards me screaming with a knife or machete in a back alley, I'd defend myself.

Other than that bizarre and highly unlikely circumstance, ABSOLUTELY NEVER. I have NEVER hit a woman, and I don't believe that I ever will. A man should receive an automatic jail term if he hits a woman.

The most I will ever do is shout (but I could count the number of times I've done that on the fingers of one hand) and I feel extremely upset and sad after shouting, as it means I've failed to communicate.

No, never! I dont think its ok to hit anyone.

However, I wonder if that opinion is still held by many of todays youths. I was recently hit (several times in the face) by a 14 year old lad outside of Tescos because I called the police as the group he was in were causing a disturbance. I was left with two very black eyes and a scratch to my cornea for my efforts. The police couldnt do anything about it!!! It absolutely horrified me that a lad like that could resort to hitting me, a young woman, so easily.

NO it is not, men who hit women, are not men but weak immature bullies, they should seek help, like a anger management coucillor, to learn to control their actions.

often these men see this in their own homes, their fathers hit there mothers, and the get accustomed to it, then when they grow up, get into a relationship, they just think this is a normal way to treat the woman they are involved with, as noone has shown them any different so they do it,

If she wanna hit on him like a man, as a act of defense, I would say its okay. I still don't condone hiting a woman ever. Sometimes women don't understand leave a man alone before he reaches his boiling point and you make him react that way. No, that is not okay. If he doing it just because then he need his butt kicked

It depends.

If you have a woman that has violent emotions, sometimes you have to defend yourself.

My parents taught me to never hit women, however, when i was in school, there were three girls that thought it was perfectly okay to use their nails and rake my arms to the point of stitches being needed. After my folks talked to their folks, they said this: If they do that to you again, knock them out!

Sometimes you have to defend yourself.

Just because boys/men are taught never to hit women does not mean women have the right to act and take advantage of that.

am not a guy but NO WAY should a guy ever hit a woman. They are much stronger and likely to hurt her badly if they angry. Some people have said that if a woman hits you then defend yourself or hit back - i would say refrain her until she is calm but NEVER hurt her!

Firstly those men dont deserve women that strike women liek that.

Only out of frustration i do the following because of love:
Now i only like hitting women on the buttocks as its called in english, and i have done so over my knee, really hard and spanking harder, because i want to love her and yes it always leads to some real raunchy and loving encounter and its a wise way of getting the woman to see her mistake if she mistakes etc.
And to listen to me, and love me! My grandfather gave me a book about this when i was young, he said dont take out your frustration like an nimal, ever son, when i was 9 or so, he said make your frustration into love , i cant translate the poem i have of this book, my grandpa wrote it, he was like a poet.


Now i have done this in the past with love and frustration which has always and i repeat always led to to lovemaking and that got rid of the frustration and she listend to me.

And my relationships have been perfect in life.

Otherwise its offensive in any other way and i have never done so, its so bad and a person who strikes a woman doesnt deserve her, because of her warmth, love and care.
And especially thos esick men who have children with these women.

Men who do this are perthetic and sick, and viol, and insecure!

well heres my two sence....

i personaly dont hit women at all( unless im just playing around and like lightly tap)

and if a women hits me i just take it like a man!!! ( not by hitting back but just ignoring she ever hit me.)

but the real question is, is it ok for women to hit men? i mean if a guy hits another guy or a girl hits another girl they are clawing at each others throats. or if a guy says something stupid to a girl hes ready to be slapped( and women slap very hard!!!)

so yea....
