I've quite recently bought the The Sims 2 and the University expansion pack, and become completely hooked. I'm considering getting the other expansion packs (nightlife, open for business and pets. Possibly Seasons, but not really sure if it appeals to me!), but I'm not sure if my computer will be able to run the game with all the expansion packs.

Does anyone know the minimum systems requirements for running the game plus add ons without it running slow/freezing, etc?

I don't think the minimum system requirements are proper with all other expansion packs, so looking at the requirements for one expansion pack isn't going to tell you how good of a computer you need to run all of them.

Make sure your graphics card is high end. The minimum required graphics card (they list some on the official site) is probably going to be okay. The big killer for the game will be RAM. I recommend at least 1 GB.

My computer has an ATI Radeon 9200 graphics card and just over 1 GB of RAM. The game runs pretty well (I have all expansion packs, all stuff packs, and way more custom content than I need, lol) with the occasional slowing when I'm on a big lot, or running a large family, or zoomed out on a lot with a lot of people or activity. It helps to zoom in so you're not getting a lot of the other stuff that's going on.

Go to the sims2.com Make sure your graphics card is good enough. If not the colors in the game get sooo messed up. Also, dont play the game nonstop , if you do then you will get so sick of it. Only play it for a few hours a day.
