I was wondering if anyone can give their opinions/experiences of connecticut. I will be travelling North America in the summer but have limited time. I don't want to waste some of my time visiting a place that could be skipped. What is there in connecticut and is it worth a visit? Thanks

If you're travelling by car between NYC and Boston, then you can find a worthwhile stop or two en route.

Old Stonington, Mystic seaport, and the Gillete Castle are all not far from I-95, and are worth stops - if you have your own wheels to stop and go as you please. Public transit can be quite limiting, and you might be forced to stay longer than you planned on if you take ethem (although Mystic may have decent Amtrak options, being on the NY-Boston route).

Otherwise, if you're planning on seeing a large chunk of North America in a short time, Connecticut propably isn't worth the time and effort.

Before you can get an answer worth a darn, more information is needed. Where are you starting from? If you're starting in Los Angeles, maybe not, but if you're starting in New York, then maybe yes. And, how much time is what you are calling "limited"? The average person in the U.S. gets maybe 2 weeks a year off...major differences from those coming over from Europe where you might be calling a four week trip 'limited time'.

Go to www.lightninrv.com and click on "Rentals". Once there, check out our 'Special Events Calendar' where you will find a list of great things going on, all over the U.S. But, don't look at it for just the time period you're going to be here, as the locations listed, are pretty good sites to visit 12 months a year...and you'll see a pretty good selection of events going on all over New England. You might just find a great travel idea in Connecticut that you can see on the way to some place else.

Then, take a look at our 'Travel Links'. Again, a lot of fun travel ideas and a lot of very helpful ones as well.

Have a good trip.

There are things to see in every state. But to my way of thinking, nothing in Conn. hits the top of the list.
