Personally, I don't think that things like music cause people to take their own lives. I have some friends that listen to the darkest music i've ever heard, and play violent video games and things like that, and they're perfectly fine. I too listen to violent music and watch violent movies occasionally, but I've never thought about suicide or (as some people place blame) going on a shooting rampage.
There was actually a story on the news recently about a teenaged girl that took her own life because one of her schoolmates mother pretended to be a boy on myspace and purposefully made friends with her and then out of the blue told her that he can't be friends with her anymore because of what people were saying at school. So she hung herself in her closet.
It's just my personal opinion that if you get that upset over something like that, there's something going on in your brain already that's not right and that's what causes people to off themselves, not the music they listen to, etc.

In a word, NO! Many like to blame certain types of music for causing teen suicides, but teens and others who commit suicide generally already have a history of mental health issues, and although they may gravitate to music that reflects their mood, the music does not in any way lead to their suicide.

Alot of people say that some music does but when you think about the band are still living and those are the people teenagers look up to and I found that listen to music kept me going through the tough times but i suppose everyone is different and some people will take to heart what the actual lyrics are saying and will thknk suicide is the onl option

There have been a number of bands sued over this...
Ozzy and Judas Priest to name a couple. Did the teens commit suicide, based on these songs? A jury says no.
If you are already on the brink of something this drastic, I would imagine listening to Barney sing I love you, you love me... would be enough to drive you over the edge.
Everyone feels they need to justify why someone did something. Manson was inspired by the Beatles... but did they get sued over Helter Skelter?
