I need to know if in new jersey the lanlord is responsible to give us a new refridgerator and stove?

If the apartment came with a fridge and stove then he is responsible to repair or replace them. If they were not part of the agreement you are responsible but make sure it is in writing that you will take them with you should you leave.

If the old ones do not work, it is his responsibility to fix it or replace it. If it is fixable, he doesn't have to buy you a new one.

If you rented with one then he is responsible to keep working ones in your place. They don't have to be new but in working order...
