I had a miscarriage when I was 16 weeks, it broke my heart when I had to return all of the stuff my family had already bought me.
I'm currently 23 weeks into my second pregnancy, and my fiance and I decided that, to avoid any problems or heartache, we're going to wait to do the nursery when I hit 30 weeks.
However, miscarriages are not terribly common after 14 weeks so you should be just fine buying everything this early. Good luck =)

First of all - congratulations! Your excitement about this makes it sound like you'll be a great mum.
I don't think you've bought things too early, especially if your 12 week scan showed everything is fine. It's probably best to get things done now anyway so that in the later stages of your pregnancy you will have time to rest, concentrate on motherhood etc.

No I would always advise waiting at least the first 12 weeks and on our first baby we all get very excited and go completely OTT the amount of stuff that you have bought and probably wont use will make you laugh later down the line. the only thing i would say is find yourself a hobby because when your nesting instinct kicks in which will be around 20 weeks ish you will find your self very board with nothing to do. and you may find your pregnancy drags a bit.

The risk of miscarriage drops dramatically after 12 weeks, although unfortunately it is possible for something to go wrong right up to the birth. many women buy lots of things after they get the 12 weeks over. Good luck and enjoy your preparations for your new baby. Most Pram shops will let you pay for the pram or buggy, leave it at the shop and pick it up after the safe birth and will refund your money if the unfortunate happens, they will also do this with the cot as well.

Its entirely your own decision. I got mine all after my 20 week scan, but I paid for them and left them in the shop until the week before I was due. With my second, everything was in the house and I didnt need to worry. Have fun and good luckxx
My advice would also be, dont buy a big expensive pram as you will probaby change to a smaller "umbrella" buggy once they hit 3 months (I know I did, far handier for the car etc) x

I don't think it's too early. I not only buy baby stuff but also maternity clothes - it's so much fun! Besides, it's good to finally be able to relax and acknowledge that there's a healthy, growing child inside of you.
At 12 weeks your pregnancy is well-established so I think you are perfectly justified in getting ready for baby. Besides, there will be more to keep you busy in the months to come.
Congrats!

Me and my husband did the same as you. We just bought unisex everything. Clothes we can now buy gender wise. Its very exciting and hard to wait to get everything you need. Besides i feel if you have it early there is no rushing to get the last minute things like bedding and so forth. The only thing we waited on were clothes and like nail clippers and baby wash. CONGRATS

Id buy everything but not have it all in my house especially the buggy as it is seen as bad luck. I dont normally believe in superstitious crap but this one im not taking any chances with.
Theres no harm in buying it - especially if you can get a bargain in the sales but I would maybe ask one of your parents to keep it at there home until the time comes.
Best of Luck xx
