What's the cheapest way to get from Southend to Heathrow Airport?

I have already looked up national express where buses only go from 6 o'clock in the morning... and i don't particularly fancy getting the train. I need to get there for 3 in the afternoon.

Southend to Fenchurch Street
Walk to Tower Hill underground station
District Line to Hammersmith
Cross platform change to Piccadilly Line to Heathrow.
