Possible sure.
Either you trust these reports or you don't but common sense should hold that you be consistent about it. If you don't trust the reports then you can't trust them when they support your view anymore then when they oppose it. If you do trust them then you can't doubt them just because they support the view of your opposition.
I don't trust them myself.
I personally think they reported this way because China is getting ticked about our foreign policy in general and Iran (their oil supply) in particular. Better to cool down the anti-Iran sentiment in our country then tick off our biggest creditor on the planet.

They must have because Bill O'Reilly told me that Iran has nukes and I believe him over those lying dems in congress.
It is amazing the extent to which neocons will go to believe what they want. I thought the Dems in congress were incompetent buffoons who couldn't understand an intelligence report if it hit them in the face? How could they influence something they do not understand?
By the way, it isn't one intelligence report. It is 16 over a course of three years.

The Democrat majority in Congress doesn't change facts. This just indicates how Bush constantly lies and tries to create wars of choice.

On the other hand I tend to think it could have been influenced outside of Washington. Maybe Putin had something to do with it when he said the US needed to back off of Iran just a few weeks ago.

That would prove what an impotent lame duck Bush has become. You could be right.
Or, Bush could simply be lying as usual. I think I'll go with that.

maybe.... but there was an old assessment on the iranian "threat" which told that iran wasn't an immediate threat and that they weren't near to have the bomb... and i see that this one has never influenced bush and cie or even europe

Or perhaps the selling of whole sale lies, like the wmd's in Iraq, to the American public have ended.
I for one welcome some real over sight on this corrupt administration.
