When I was young we didn't have huge amounts of toys to buy, very unlike todays toys r us stores, you might have an aisle in a Woolworths or a small local toy story that also sold books and trains.
I loved my dolls, a Ginny, a Toni and a Shirley Temple.
But having more than one of each was out of the question, and we were well off. Now I have several of each, and of other dolls of the period, like Honey Tinthair and Mme. Alexanders. I keep them on several shelves in the bedroom, behind the door, not too obvious, my husband doens't mind, in fact he bought me my first adult doll my Toni from when I was a girl. It was my best gift ever.

I have kids, so I still play with Legos and loads of other toys when I play with them. I don't think I would do that if we had no children. I collect art and rare books, not toys.

I still love to color with my kids, and I'm 45! It's a great stress reliever.
