NO offence to the Religious contributors here on Y!/A. Just MY feelings about being harassed... not by ALL, but SOME, Religious denominations. Sorry if this annoyed you. I understand...can you tell me if they do?
I've been telling the same elderly couple, as nicely as i can compose myself - I AM Capable of selecting my own religion, thank you, only for them to be back again and again... for months on end...And they aren't the only two either...Is persistence to convert, a part of the doctrine, or just close-minded fanatics who don't respect others right to make decisins for themsleves, and in the name of their saviour, enjoy pushing (literally asking for) a harrassment suite? It makes me so angry. Fine if it were in a public arena, but my own home is not for complementary magazine distributing intruders.
Once is bad enough. Why do they persist? I'm an Atheist. Jeez....

I feel your pain. I too am plagued by a pair of lovable J's Witnesses ..... I've read all of their literature and had a very stimulating conversation in which I explained why I am an atheist, and that it was the result of study and research into theology, not ignorance ...... but they just don't seem to get it. They'll be back ....... they're always back ..........

you do now not sound like a creep, in ordinary words somebody who's aggravated. We understand your solid to have self belief in God or to now not have self belief. we don't decide for to talk or argue any ingredient. in case you place up a no trespassing we will not enter your outdoor or knock on your door. For all of persons that decide for to show themselves to infants...that is in ordinary words unusual. optimal human beings have infants and that they pass out with us to fulfill our pals and communicate. Do you answer your door at Halloween bare and swinging your ingredient on the childrens mutually as they knock? Is it any possibility to show your self? in ordinary words curious. What a perverted ingredient to assert. Hummm as properly, we attempt to be properly mannered so in ordinary words asking to be placed on a do now not call checklist and posting the sign will artwork.

Yes it really gets to me too, I have been pushed to be somewhat rude with them at this point.....I use to be as nice as i could be but like you say they kept coming back..(usually the same people) so thats when i became rude with them. I told them that i don't agree with people going door to door, that i feel like if i wanna practice your religion then i would come find you in a church somewhere!!! I really hate to be rude but enough was enough.

Yes, we don't get them that often, but we get the Mormon people every now and then. I don't understand how they expect to try and make people follow their religion by only talking to us for 10 min. I think its a waste of time for them to do it. Especially since, I'm non-denominational, but you have to give them credit for trying!

I tell them I'm a Satanist, ask them if they want to help sacrifice an animal, and then tell them I'm too busy to chat. They NEVER come back. Not that any of it's true, but for Pete's sake stay away from my house!!

I find it irritating because they assume that they are the only people who attend church. The last was a Baptist preacher who insisted that I attend his church the following Sunday. I told him that I already attend church, and he said that was nice, but I needed to give his church as chance. I told him I wasn't Baptist, and he still insisted. I finally had to tell him to leave my property and not to return.
The Mormons canvas my neighborhood every few weeks, and, when I tell them I'm not interested, they are respectful and leave.

I know..I'm an atheist too and I hate people trying to force their religion on me.
They used to come to my house alot when I was little. Once my mom told them that she was a satanist(she's not) and they got scared and left, lol.

Because they have been brainwashed into this religion right from when they were children and that's just what they do. What you can do is put up a sign that says "no religuos nutters please thank you" and you can point it out to them if they try to knock again.

Yea, I agree! I get the same people calling at my house all the time, and it just makes me mad now. They shouldn't force their religion on other people! It's like they're trying to brainwash everyone.

Maybe someone told them you're an atheist.
Once they know that, their main goal in religiousizing people is to convert you :o
That's what happened with me and some religious people I knew anyway :P
