The closest island is Ibiza, which is closest to the tourist resort of Javea on mainland. From the nearby rock of Peñon de Ifach, on a clear day, one can see the top of Ibiza's mountains. That rock is very similar to Gibraltar although slightly smaller. The interesting point is that the village at the foot of the rock is called Calpe, which is, incidentally, what the Romans called Gibraltar when there were known as Hercule's columns. I lived there many years ago and sailed often between the mainland and Ibiza and nearby Formentera islands.

The Canary Islands are known if you are the sunlight center of Europe! See this sunlight with hotelbye . Canary Islands give you a gentle temperatures and a range of fantastic natural attractions. Five of their eight islands have already been stated a Biosphere Reserve, and the archipelago has four national parks. The absolute most remarkable attractions in Canary Islands will be the beaches since they're only perfect for soothing in sunlight or enjoying water sports such as for instance windsurfing and scuba diving. In Canary Islands you may also be impressing by the inside appeal like: walking, period touring, hiking and even caving. Some of the very most magnificent attractions of Canary Islands are: the volcanic scenery of Lanzarote, the beaches of Fuerteventura and Gran Canaria making use of their mud dunes, or the green forests of La Palma and La Gomera.
