Lets be fair here, we in the UK started the industrial revolution in the 1700's so for three hundred years the UK has been pumping pollutants into the atmosphere should we not be the first to start the pay back.....
We could of course stop buy cheap goods, TV's video game and the like made in China and only buy more expensive ones made in the uk...but no we want it all don't we....

Get used to it. This is just the beginning. The US elections are coming and will most likely be won by the democrats who will no doubt, increase our taxes and implement carbon caps, amongst other measures to hinder our economy and empty our wallets. I can envision law suites coming from nations who suffer natural disasters to the industrialized nations for causing all the worlds problems. Hang on, the tsunami is about to hit us.

The "green" issue is just one big scam. It's being used by the British government as a way of introducing more "acceptable" taxes so they can get their hands even deeper into our pockets.
