No.
The only people that follow the law are the law abiding people anyway.
I've been working as a Police Officer for years and don't believe any tougher gun laws will do anything to prevent idiots from doing what they're going to do anyway. We need to build more prisons and just lock all the violent offenders up for life. Now that would make things better around here.

NO. because;
1. More Firearms control laws are usually wanted and passed by people that assume they will be obeyed. They are living in a fantasy world where everyone is a law abiding citizen and that certainly is NOT the case.
2. I believe that every gun law advocate neither knows what laws are already on the books or does not care because, it is their ultimate goal is to make ALL firearms illegal to own, use or manufacture. If this was not the case every gun control advocate would know verbatum what state and federal laws we already have and would be asking for better enforcement or those laws. This is certainly NOT the case.
3. Gun control has never and WILL NEVER be proven to be an effective deterrent to reducing crime. However, the states with the LEAST amount of gun control legislation HAVE been proven to have the LEAST amount or crime. To desecrate the 2nd amendment for an unproven belief is rediculous and should be touted as unconstitutional by the Supreme Court.

Yes, the laws should strictly allow any citizen the right to protect themselves, no matter what state you are in. Currently, you have to study law when being attacked to see if it's OK to fight back because so many different states have different rules.
Cops should not approach a car on a traffic stop with their gun pulled and then be surprised when the driver runs. If anyone approaches my car with a gun in hand, I'm taking off. How do I know he's a real cop?
Children should be taught there is no such thing as an unloaded gun. All guns will kill you. Period. Teach the children that if they pick up a gun, someone could die. Don't teach them you unload it so it's OK to play with it. You might forget, just once. No such thing as an unloaded gun.

No, gun laws are ineffective and a violation of the 2nd ammendment. Look at all US cities with the stricktest gun control laws and you will notice they have the worst gun violence. The reason our forfathers made up the 2nd ammendment was so that american citizens can not only protect themselves from criminals but to protect themelves from an over zealous government as well. I think it's ironic that liberals of all people are the first group of people that try to take away this particular civil liberty of citizens right to be able to protect themselves. But as time goes by with each and every issue it's becoming obvious liberal democrats dont have a clue at what is best for this country. You want three reasons and explanations I have to refer you to publications of facts not printed or reported by the liberal media because they will not report how many guns have saved american citizens, only how many criminals shoot people. Look at: Va Tech "gun ban" on campus laws. Columbine or any school shootings "gun ban on campus laws". and the opposite example would be the mall in Utah where that nut started randomly shooting people and an offduty "armed" cop stopped him from killing furthur.

the only people who follow gun laws are those that actually care about laws in the first place. more gun laws will not work because:
1. we already have many, and they just aren't enforced.
2. look at australia. the criminals have guns and the good guys don't. that makes lots of sense.
3. when the media gives up their freedom of speech, and people allow the cops to search whenever and wherever they want, I will give up my right to carry a firearm. and just so you know, I have carried one for 24 years, have stopped 2 armed robberies as a civilian, stopped an assault as a civilian and have used it to defend my home from an intruder. I have never been shot by my own gun, had it taken away from me, nor do my kids play with them and get injured.

No!
1. The Second Amendment - and if you say that it only applies to "the Militia", the "Unorganized Militia" is defined by Federal Law as all males between the ages of 17 and 45 who are not in the Military or National Guard*.
2. You are more likely to be killed by a gun in New York City on a per capita basis (where they are banned) vs one state over in Vermont, where anyone who can legally own a gun is allowed to carry a concealed handgun, without a permit. This is true of anywhere that guns are banned or heavily restricted.
3. So only the criminals don't have guns.
* TITLE 10, Subtitle A, PART I, CHAPTER 13, § 311
§ 311. Militia: composition and classes
(a) The militia of the United States consists of all able-bodied males at least 17 years of age and, except as provided in section 313 of title 32, under 45 years of age who are, or who have made a declaration of intention to become, citizens of the United States and of female citizens of the United States who are members of the National Guard.
b) The classes of the militia are—
(1) the organized militia, which consists of the National Guard and the Naval Militia; and
(2) the unorganized militia, which consists of the members of the militia who are not members of the National Guard or the Naval Militia.

1. No. Tougher gun control laws will not stop a criminal.
2. No. That will only take them out of the hands of law abibing
citizens. Refer to answer 1.
3. Still no. Make the laws (and punishment) rougher on the on
criminals. Refer to answer 1 again.

no, most people who own guns are responsible, i need one for self defense, my friends use them to hunt, and my dad is a collector. none of us have ever abused our 2nd amendant right.. stricter gun rules will do nothing.the criminals already have their guns. their should be stricter laws if you get caught with an unregistered gun. that would help.

Yes, it should become a very strict law that every adult be required to undergo weapons training to overcome their fears of using a gun in times of need, so that when Tom Thug starts thinking about committing a crime against someone in your neighborhood, you can become the responsible citizen you were born to be and protect that neighbor, or yourself, and keep all the Tom Thugs from even beginning to think that anyone in your neighborhood is by any means an easy mark.
Guns don't kill people; people kill people. Thugs don't respect people, thugs respect people with guns.
