My tv just randomly turns itself off after about 10 mins. I heard before that your remote batteries can have this affect on your tv so ive changed them for new ones but it has made no difference. Any ideas of what else could be the problem??

Many TVs have a "Sleep Timer" on them, where you can set the TV to go off after a certain amount of time. It's useful for those who tend to fall asleep in bed watching TV. Check the settings on your TV and see if you have a sleep timer or other setting that needs to be changed.

Like the others say it could be a sleep timer. Try to time it with a stopwatch starting when you turn the set on and ending when it shuts down. If you do this several times and the amount of time is the same it most likely is a sleep timer.

There could be a problem in the power supply of the tv too. When the circuits warm up there could be a voltage leak or spike somewhere most sets shut down when this happens to protect the set and keep it from catching fire. After it shuts down the first time can you turn it back on and watch it for awhile or do you have to let it "cool" down first?

your standyby settings have probably been changed accidently by a little kid. this means after 10 mins the tv wil turn on to standby. you therefore need to change the settings back to 10 hrs or something simialar
