This is not just an idea, a possible idea of what is happenning in the world, in our cities in our backyard. Let's do the right thing! Let's care about what is ours and what will be for our children. Some of us, yes, I know, I was one of them, think that, you know: I don't care about the Earth. Why should I care? I'm going to live my life as good as I can, because I got one life and I'm going to live it without a care in the world!... Well! And you should live in the way in which you want to live! But... There is one big BUT, because you know good, that it is not very hard thing to do, if you:
- Turn off the light in the room where you are not in it
- Do not leave the water flowing from the pipe while you are washing your teeth or not using it
- do not leave the garbage in the streets! Oh, come on people, it is not a big deal if you go to the container and leave it there
these are just the main things that you can do,little things that can change BIG things!I believe in you!Cheers!

One persons actions do not make any difference.

Have a beer, relax.

Ane,

To assume people aren't doing the things you are suggesting is naive. My parents have been pounding the turn off the lights, when your no longer in that room, turn off the water while brushing your teeth, and I have naturally been conscientious about garbage and I had even picked up cans that were thrown along the road to recycle when I was in my teens and living in a somewhat rural area.

So you are not telling me things that I don't already do, because my parents taught me to do them to conserve energy and be conscious of my families budget.

I have a very gas efficient car and live 6 miles from work. But not on a route where I can viably do alternate transportation. I really think people need to take other people's situations in mind when they start preaching about changing things in their lives. A lot of people are too poor to do so.

Given enough information we would all come to the same conclusion about global warming and the state of the environment in general.

Whether we want to acknowledge the conclusions is another matter.

Living one's life in ignorance of the problems is the only REAL problem. If someone knows the facts and chooses not to do anything to curb their effect on the planet that is their call - albeit a little selfish towards future generations. But not even knowing the stakes is dangerous.

Not to nitpick, but the only thing on your list that would even remotely address GW is the turning off the lights part, and even that is borderline.

Taking care of the environment is great, I do it, everyone should. Just don't do it in the name of the Global Warming bogeyman, just do it because it's the right thing to do.

Although I do the things you've described naturally, I don't think that has much to do with Global Warming. I believe we are very pompous humans to think we have caused the Earth to begin a new warming cycle and even more arrogant to believe we can do anything to stop it. Hell why would we want to stop it? Wouldn't that be interfering in nature's way?

Those are things worth doing.. just find a better argument for it. Some unsupported chicken little approach squaking over something we have no control over just isn't going to cut it.
