Mrs. Ibañez volunteered to help at a hospital for children with cancer. When she first entered the cancer ward, she was upset by the fact that most of the children had no hair. What is the explaination for their baldness?

Some chemomedications made body hair fall out. It grows back after the treatment is all done.

Cancer cells are rapidly dividing cells therefore many chemotherapy treatments are designed to target rapidly dividing cells. Unfortunately there are cells other than cancer ones that fall into that category. Among those are hair folicles, and cells in mucus membranes of the digestive tract. That's why many chemo treatments cause hair loss and/or tenderness in the mouth or stomach. It grows back.
