it's a penecostal christian church, they read about God, sing, it's really a colorful experience every time i'm there, when i used to go to a catholic church, it hurt my knees, the lecture was with no feeling, the songs were not too modern, just didn't bring out the heart in me.....i read the bible more now that i'm a christian and i'm more involved with the bible.....it's a really good feeling to have and i'm living more with the bible day by day, people can criticize this and that, but i'm seeing results in my life from reading the bible and going to church, it is a little weird sometimes with people falling and others catching them, i know what they mean when they do that, but that benny hinn guy doesn't really have to do that, he can just preach and stick to being a preacher, people that puts hands on each other isn't really holy if you ask me, i think just believing it is all that counts, are there some catholics that are against christians, vice versa

Now let me get this right. You left the Catholic Church because you had to kneel, the homily gave you no feeling and the songs were not too modern and it just did not bring out the heart in you,is that correct? So this is why you changed ?
I thought Catholics attended a Catholic Church to celebrate the Eucharist with the Priest and receive the body and blood of Christ, not to be entertained. You don't have to kneel if your knees hurt .You can sit through the whole Mass if you like .Nobody will say anything. Offer up to God the pain of listening to the "lectures" and just accept the songs for what they are.You don't have to obey the Bible, they are all misleading.

I have never heard of anyone leaving the Catholic Faith for the reasons you have given. It simply amazes me.

If kneeling hurts your knees, you should think of how much Christ suffered on the Cross and count yourself lucky you don't suffer as badly...and then offer up your pain for His glory.

If the reader at Church wasn't very good and read Scripture in a monotonous tone, you should think about how God "fills in the gap" and makes our imperfection perfect and then be grateful that this person risked being judged by getting up and reading even if he or she didn't have much talent for it. And then you should really try to focus in on the words so that you were prepared for the sermon.

If it was the priest who was "with no feeling", then you should have prayed for him and thought about how hard he must work and how little people help him out...and you should have thought of ways that you could be using your spare time to share some of his burden so he wasn't so tired and burned out.

If the songs weren't modern enough for you, you should have focussed on the lyrics and reminded yourself that the music wasn't there for YOU -- it's an offering to God. Maybe He liked it just fine!

If you didn't read the Bible as a Catholic, it is too your shame, as Catholics have daily readings of Scripture.

Of course you are seeing results now because you are finally taking your faith seriously. But you could have easily taken your faith seriously as a Catholic. You just chose not to.

Yes, it's a little weird to have people falling and others catching them in Church. That's not scriptural, nor is it orderly. And no, Benny Hinn doesn't have to do any of that, but he gets more money when he does do it.

Yes, believing counts for a lot, but so does living out your faith. The Bible says to work out our salvation with fear and trembling, remember?

No, Catholics are not supposed to be against other Christians. We consider non-Catholic Christians to be our "separated brethren." Not the enemy. I wish I could say the same for other -- many non-Catholic Christians hate Catholics with a passion.

You were apparently not well educated about the Catholic faith. Try reading "What Catholics REALLY Believe" or even "Catholicism for Dummies." Just to find out what you missed.

Christianity is a very divisive religion. The Baptist are against other Baptist Pentecostals are against other Pentecostals. Etc, etc.

Pentecostalism is not based on scripture but emotions. Whatever the person feels is from God regardless of what the bible says. Acts chapter 2 is the first occurrence of speaking on tongues and it was simply the ability to speak a foreign language without being taught. Some scholars believe the speaker was speaking his own language but the foreign language was heard , either way it was a language humans understood and was meant to be understood. Paul said he would rather speak few words of understand than ten thousand words un a tongue no one could understand . Acts was the fulfilling of the prophecy in Joel chapter 2 but modern Pentecostals claim their gibberish is that fulfillment.

Pentecostalism is not biblical.

Catholics are self-proclaimed Christians, but not according to the Bible.

Brother, keep searching for those who teach and preach the Bible as it is. I love Charismatic and Pentecostal people. I love their faith and sincerity. Unfortunately there are a lot who love those churches for the emotional high they get and the show.

Keep reading your Bible, like 1 Cor. 14 and ask yourself, "Have I ever seen anyone speak in tongues according to Paul's detailed instruction?"

Read 1 Cor. 13 and ask yourself if the Word of God is that which is perfect, and that which is perfect has already come, then why do we need miracles every Sunday in a dramatic fashion to confirm the Word of God?

Either the Word of God is sufficient or it is not.

Personally, I believe the Word of God is all we need. It is what keeps me free from religion, miracles, emotions, false doctrine, and skewed personal convictions. I have freedom in Christ to worship Christ.

I attend a Baptist Church and am very satisfied. Over the years I have visited other churches, have good friends who are not Baptist, and go to church with many today who have just become Baptist.

Keep up the reading. God bless you. Congratulations from freedom from oppressive religion of men.

One last thing: Have you accepted Jesus Christ alone for your Savior?

what I am reading in your question is that you left the Catholic Church for purely selfish reasons. You came to the House of the Lord so that He may serve you and make you feel good, rather than you go to Him, asking for forgiveness and seeking ways to serve Him better.

Now you want us to pat you on the back for supposedly reading the Bible, and then you have the audacity to criticize Rev. Hinn. The laying of hands is completely biblical. And now you are trying to stir up more anomosity between christians.

I am disappointed in you, brother.

peace be with you.

Anyone that believes in Jesus and worships Him is a Christian and that includes Catholics. The laying on of hands has been done forever. Jesus himself did it and gave His disciples the authority do so also in His name.
All you need to do is have faith in Jesus and if going to a pentecostal Church does it for you then go if you are being bothered by it find a different church even though you will find most believe in laying on of hands in prayer. good luck in your search.

Laying on of hands is Biblical:
1 Timothy 4:14 neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by the prophecy, with the laying on of hands by the presbytery.
