The many denominations should not exist. Notice what 1 Corinthians 1:10 says;

"Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment."

Why do we have so many? Men are not satisfied to all speak the same thing. Men are not satisfied to teach only the word of God. Men are not satisfied to only speak where the Bible speaks, and be silent where the Bible is silent. Men are not content to do Bible things in Bible ways and call Bible things by Bible names. Too many wish to add their own desires and teach their own doctrine.

Notice 2 Timothy 4:2-4, "Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables."

Listen to what churches teach and then search the scriptures to see if it is true! Are they preaching "the word", or are they preaching their own doctrine?

Notice Acts 17:11, "Now these were more noble-minded than those in Thessalonica, for they received the word with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so."

These were called noble because when they heard the apostle Paul, they compared his teaching to the scriptures. If they were noble to investigate the teaching of an apostle, then how much more important is it for us to investigate the things men teach today?!!

Compare the things the a church or a preacher teaches to the Bible! If the things they teach agrees with God's word, accept it. If the things they teach cannot be found in the Bible, reject that doctrine, or at least ask questions!

When you ask a Bible question, demand a Bible answer (with book, chapter, and verse), then read those verses, within their context, to see if they are properly used!

"Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth." (2 Timothy 2:15)

There is only one church. Christ only has one bride, not many. Denominations form when man wants to worship his own way and not obey the teachings of scripture. To know if you are in the true church you need to look at the doctrine they follow. If you can't find it in the bible then you are not in the true church. Was there a pope in the Bible (even though they claim Peter was the first pope, although where they got this from is beyond me considering the fact that he was married)? No so catholics are not it. Were there protestants in the Bible? No so protestants are not it. Chrisitians made up the church in the first century. Start there and study the scriptures and see where it leads you. If you go to a congregation and you ask a Bible question and they do not take you to the Bible to answer that question you need to be wary. If you ask a question about worship and Jesus the answer should come straight from the New testament doctrine not anywhere else. Remember times change God does not. He is the same as he has always been.

Interpretations. People interpret different parts of the Bible to mean different things. They then break away from the mainstream Church and create their own. Generally they all believe the same things, but differ on smaller things in the Bible. The Bible is a big book that says a lot of things about what there is and isn't, what we should and shouldn't believe... People will ALWAYS look at one thing and be able to see things differently to the person sitting next to them!

it incredibly is Paul speaking writing to the Christians of Rome. that's no longer the denomination referred to as the Church of Christ denomination, it became into the church homes which Paul had helped start up--the church at Corinth, the church in Antioch, Ephesian, and different in the process the Mediterranean Sea coastal section. lower back then and it may nevertheless be so each and every church became into self sufficient to the different authority different than Jesus. He could have pronounced the church homes of Jesus and been only as precise. He could have even secure the church in Jerusalem which Jesus began. As on your club--that must be in a church that follows the coaching of the hot testomony, the classes of Jesus and Paul just about thoroughly make up the doctrine of the Christian Church, You as a individual are loose to belong to any between the countless Christian denominational church homes. maximum practice an identical doctrine--you will promptly discern the minor alterations. club in a Church is optionally available yet is motivate so which you have probability to proceed to develop spiritually. that's God's desires which you do collect with different Christians. Being a member does no longer something in the direction of salvation.

I agree with Peter. Furthermore, in the beginning, there is only one church and that is what Christ was instituted. Later in the Roman era, misunderstanding occurs between the top clerics resulting into two divisions now the Roman Catholic and Orthodox church. Tensions further occurs after the Dark Ages and the rise of different views and questions which the RC declared it heresy. During or before the Lutheran era highlightened knowledge and many questions harmed the fundametal teachings of the church especially that of Galileo's theory of the Sun. Others were inspired by Luther's fearless views detached themselves from the pontiff and instituted there own church and based themselves on knowledge and interpretation of the bible and not merely on tradition which some of the RC teachings has been based on.

Several other churches afloated after several translations of the Bible occurs and each of them claimed authentic and based their teachings merely on its official interpretations.

But we can't blame them for it, for they have the most powerful words and much wits that they have reaped majority of the Catholics and has drift away from the mother church.

Reasons? In my own view, each has their own preferences and different backgrounds that joing such group could resolved their personal issues and eased tensions that they got after hearing RC teachings.

But still God loves them all no matter what they are! In the end no matter how many churches has been built for Christ, there is still only one Church and that is what we call as CHRISTIANS.

You've got a book that's been chaotically cobbled together by hundreds of anonymous authors, editors, and copyists; contains contradictory statements; and has been revised, translated, and updated by so many different people. This has resulted in believers disagreeing with each other about what the true "meaning" of this or that chapter and verse of the bible is. Since Christians stubbornly disagree with each other on what the bible "says," they form their own churches to propagate their interpretation of the bible. Today each Christian denomination arrogantly claims that since his/her faith is the "true" faith, all the others must be false. This is what I call "faith-based logic" which is of course an oxymoron.

the bible means different things to different people depending on who translates it or tells you what it means. The bible is very vague on many issues but these flat earth preachers can start a church with little or no facts that they are even using the bible.

Some people prefer to be a big cog in a little wheel rather than a small cog in the single big wheel.

Those people realize that to become the former they have to invent (by reinterpreting the bible) a new religion.

Then they become the big cog leader with all the riches that that brings. (financial, spiritual, material and physical)

Hey! Christianity did not exist until Christ had died. because his death is the sacrifice that is so important to Christians.
Before that He was just a leader and a prophet.

Because even a single body has several limbs and appendages. Even a single body has an almost incalculable number of cells and atoms that compose itself into the collective...

Just like you cannot use stomach juices in exchange with brain fluid, each church has its place and its function in this body... dont forget, every body has a poop shoot and a peepee canal... so there will definitely be some that churn out nothing but kaka or peepee

Because one person comes along with their own interpretation of the bible and makes their own church and religion out of it. then another does the same thing.

It's like the saying goes: One man's garbage is another man's treasure. Meaning, everyone views everything a different way.
