When you are in the Army you are paid a monthly amount depending upon your rank, time in service, time in grade, and other factors. When you are supposed to be present for duty the only acceptable excuse for you not to be there is because you are at sick call (at the doctor) which will place you back to duty - or assign other instructions. Your supervisor is required to follow these instructions as well as yourself.
Your pay continues as normal unless your failure to report as ordered caused punitive action.

When the PA or Doctor give you rest or place in hospital, you will still received your pay. There is no scategory for sick pay.
The other is convalescent leave. This is recovery from an injury. You will receive seperate rations because you usually will not be on post.

It depends on the exact wording of the sick-note - it would need to say that he is 'unfit to travel' otherwise he would be expected to return to base and receive treatment there. I had a similar problem with back pain, saw the doc again and got a note saying I was unfit to travel.

no such animal. a servicemember is paid their base salary regardless of their status(unless they are in the brig or otherwise forfeiting pay).
The US military is also the only place where you can earn vacation days..while on vacation.

Unless your illness or injury is self-inflicted you have unlimited sick time! If they wish to retain a quad they can and will do so!
