Pardon me for sharing with you something quite revealing, or revolting even. The only reason the Last Supper ritual is important to Christianity is for this religion to have a satanic stamp of approval. It is a prerequisite of the 'Whore of Babylon' global league/collusion (may I add conspiracy) of satanic religions. A belief system is a satanic one if it espouses any of the following:

1) sacrifice and subsequent eating of its god
2) entertainment of the delusion that man can acquire the powers of a Creator; that man himself is the God
3) atheism

Are Christians too blind not to see through the veil? Just imagine if the Last Supper wasn't symbolic. The actual Christian god is brought to the altar, his body chopped up into pieces in order for the members of the CULT or church, as the case maybe, to eat his/her share of the flesh; and then the 'meal' is completed by drinking from the 'Grail' filled with the blood of the god obtained by slitting his throat or puncturing his heart. I mean, if that's not gormenGHASTLY enough, i don't know what is.

Christians, wake up already!

Jesus said in John chapter 6 verse 63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. The Catholics screw up and forget to read the rest of the chapter and so think Jesus meant literally to eat him and drink him. Chapter 6 is where he talks about all that. Have you noticed that the ice caps on Mars are also melting? Do you think that it's all of those SUV's they drive? Or what about the rings of Saturn or the moon Europa and Titan? They're also losing ice. Go figure?

Because according to the bible, Jesus told them to do it in remembrance of him.

Contrary to what people may think, not all christians believe that it is literally the blood and body of Christ. I believe most protestants (if not all) think it is symbolic.

The bread and wine are only symbols of Christ’s body and blood, which were offered upon Calvary’s cross for the remission of sins. “This do in remembrance of me”; it is observed in blessed memory

The thing is, it doesn't just symbolize the blood of Christ, they believe it really IS the blood of Christ.

It is not a ritual but a farewell address marking the end of the Mission of Christ on earth.

Do this in Remembrance (memory)...

It is Memoria, and it means literally to do it over and over again. Not only to remember, but as a practical stuff, a verb, not a noun.

Why do it over and over again? I can't think of any other reason than the host and the wine being the REAL THING.

Because

Well because the founder told us to remember him whenever we gather together, particularly over a meal.

Gotta do what the founder says!
