There is always a health scare in the press. When my younger son was born more than 30 years ago, potatoes were bad for us! There are two very old sayings that I have lived by for decades -
1. everything in moderation &
2. a little of what you fancy does you good.
These can be applied to more than just food.

If we followed every piece of so called 'latest research' we would have all starved to death! The media trends are for causing excess stress and worry to the general public, not only in the alleged 'food scares' but in all walks of life, ie crime and politics. A good and varied well balanced diet and we should all do reasonable well, After all we all got ato die of something eventually.

I am fed up with them going on and on about what we can and can't eat too, I was brought up on everything cooked in lard, its how things used to be, but we were never ill or you never saw overweight people either, its not what we eat that causes the damage its what the manufactures put in the food that causes the damage and until the know alls get them to stop putting crap in our food then what are we supposed to do.

Your an intelligent woman, you know what's good for you, you know what's bad for you and so you do your best to eat a reasonably balanced diet.
And then there's the incredibly obese morons who are throwing junk food constantly down their necks and having the calorie intake of 5 people ever day.
These people need to be told, their stupidity makes them a massive burden on the NHS which affects tax payers like me and you.

Why not blame the doctors, scientists, food companies and others doing studies about these things? I really don't think the local news cares if you eat cheeseburgers or not.

And you will die young and unhealthy.
(if you believe the media)
It would be better to take on what the media says then make an informed choice what you eat.
Common sense and moderation are usually the key things.

I agree, if you listened to everything they tell you, you dare not eat anything. A little bit of what you fancy is good for you.

it all depends on who pays them on what is bad for you, If they tell you something is bad for you this week and someone else is paying them next week it will be good for you. so I do the same as you! if I like it I eat it and don't worry
