It means he undergoes a total transformation of nature, being made compatible with God through the miracle of spiritual regeneration. it means he has been completely changed with respect to his relationship with God; being transformed from a stubborn rebel to a humble reverent child, born of the same nature that resides in Jesus Christ.

It means that he has become "new" in type not in age. Because the Holy Spirit has regenerated a person and is performing the ongoing work of sanctification a man or woman becomes a different person who is being conformed to the image of Jesus over time.
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new (kainós) creation; the old has gone, the new has come!
kainós - adj. New. Qualitatively new, as contrasted with néos (G3501), temporally new.
Romans 8:29 For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.

The Truth brought by Christ is new from what was taught by the priest of olden days, therefore, when a man absorbs the Word and translates it into deeds he swings in the Will of God.
He becomes a self conscious human being capable of experiencing the Kingdom of God while here on earth in his gross material cloak.

2 Co 5:17-21
17Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!
18All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation:
19that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men's sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.
20We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God.
21God made him who had no sin to be sin[a] for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

To make a resolve in one's Heart, Mind and Spirit to be Christ-like. To live as Christ lived, to behave as Christ behaved and to care for others as Christ did.
Not too many modern Christians do that, most prefer to only use the Bible as some sort of Fear-inducing ammunition to scare people into believing. CHrist never forcefully converted anyone to believe, he inspired them all by being who he is, never once did he bash an unbeliever on the head for disagreeing nor did he force his doctrines down their throats even when they didnt want it...
Forcing, Bashing and Badgering wasnt what Christ did when he was human... those were Paul's activities...

The logic behind your question is illogical. Why would you want to know the meaning of that which you can't understand? My gift to you is this puzzle, "if man is alive, is his source of life from perfection or imperfection". Christ knew, those who know are pieces of the answer you seek.

To be “in” or “in union with” Christ here means to enjoy a oneness with him as a member of his body, his bride. For this relationship to come into existence, Jehovah God draws the individual to his Son and begets such a one with holy spirit. As a spirit-begotten son of God, he is “a new creation,” with the prospect of sharing with Jesus Christ in the heavenly Kingdom.—
