This guy has been on this forum under different names trying to get info.

First he was "being bullied in school", now his "dad hurts him".

NO ONE should be giving this person any information he can use irresponsibly.

Okay let me just say I've trained for this stuff so you should practice this constantly. If screaming stop and telling him to leave you alone doesn't work, try this until you're safe. Put your hands up but make sure they're open to protect your face. When he tries to punch move the same hand he's using to punch across your face when he tries to punch also move your hand forward but not all the way, sliding your hand across the outside of the punchers arm which will slow down the punch. Pivoting your body while your back heel of one foot is up gives more strength. If you can reach behind his neck cup your hand behind his neck and pull him down use the other hand to either push his back down to make it easier or put both on the neck (recommended). Once down you can knee him in the gut or kick him long enough to call 911 and keep him away from you until the police come. If you can try kneeing him hard enough to knock him out for a few minutes do it you'll be a lot safer. But practice this technique before you use it or if it doesn't work you'll be in some big trouble.

Insufficient data. If you are in an abusive situation at home you need some form of legal outside intervention. If you are just roughhousing with your Dad and you need to one up him a bit . try this.
While facing him directly when he throws the punch step your right foot behind you to a position about 2to 3 ft behind your left foot. This is a move like opening a door. Imagine you are a door and your left foot is the hinge, at the same time raise your right forearm up palm facing you and extend it out 45 degrees with upper arm parallel to the ground. toward the for arm of the punching arm of your attacker. If the punch is coming full force this will allow the punch to go by you.
With your other hand free (left hand) you can strike any target on the attackers side as they go past you.
Find a Buddy you can prat ice this with.
This is only one move. This forum is not a good way to learn self defense.

"deflecting" requires good timing to perform consistently. Putting your elbow in the way of the punch is an easy and effective defense. The elbow is hard and sharp and can cause pain to a fist.

Does he hurt you for real or is he just horsing around?
If it is real you need to talk to a teacher or a cop about it.
If you wish to learn to block you need to study an art.
Here is the truth.
The quality and frequency of your training methods will far outweigh the style you train in.
Do yourself a favor and find a good school, not a good style.
Visit all your local schools. Try free classes; ask to observe their contact drills and sparring.
Never sign a contract. Never pay for rank testing. Join a school that is clean and respectable. You will need to spend a lot of time there.

ok first of all you need to get out of the house and FAST before he really hurts you. Violence is NOT the answer. Call 999 or 911 as soon as possible because you are going to get hurt if you do not do something about your Dad!

I agree with RLJ.Other info that would be helpful is your age your size .
Hurting an attackers arm bad enough to stop him from doing it again and not just pissing him off is an aquired skill that takes time to develope. The timing and accuracy required you are not going to learn here.

well the answer to your questions depends on the nature of your question. does your dad hit you when messing around / play fighting? or does he hit you as in abuse? if it's the former, make it clear and people will tell you some good techniques! if it's the latter then listen to trustnoonestarsky
